Hot wire???

i can't seem to find what kind of wire the hot wire is made from for a hot wire cutter.

has anybody made one that could give us a few tips. the plans seem a little lacking in construction detail.

Hot wire is made from NiChrome, you can normally find lots of this wire at hobby shops, as the hobby guys use hot wire cutting to cut foam wings.
and it's normally very small diameter, so you don't need a big power supply, yes the plans are lacking info for hot wire cutting, but I have done lots of hot wire cutting, and can help
