Default E stop not working

I installed an estop switch to the XYZA axis as shown and wired it NO. Then checked continuity to com...no continuity normally, apply switch good continuity to com. Then configured Mach 3 to port 1 pin 15 but I get no estop.
Any ideas what I'm missing?

I posted more pics today too. My first cut a 3"dia 1/4" deep circle. Houston we may have a go here soon.

Default E stop

Hey Bob,
check the settings in mach3, see if the e-stop is active low/high. also when your in the setup you can have mach do a self test to set the switch. If there is a # in the selected switch , make it 0 and do the automatic setup . If your using the new board from Rockcliff then you can use NC on all your switches-including the E-stop (they updated the pull -up circuit) Reasoning- the circuit is active all the time and an "oops" will break it- instant stop. "NO" and the circuit is Deactivated until a switch closes-what if a wire fell off that switch when you were cutting your last part?Crash! At lease on the NC position, nothing works untill you repair the problem. Just a thought....

BTW, your machine looks great!

Bob

I changed to NC and with active low on (green symbol showing) the system resets but nothing when I press the estop button. With active low is off (red symbol) the system does not reset but takes me to the auto config screen. I ask for auto config and it sets active low on and says to check estop. It still doesn't work?

Hi Bob

There are 2 ways to e-stop

1- Hardware e-stop
or
2- Software e-stop

1- Hardware e-stop on board use xyza and Com, attach a NC switch as shown in the manual and remove the enable jumpers, no mach3 config is needed

2- Software e-stop, attach a NC switch to any input pin, ( arrows pointing in to the board ) example pin 10 and Lpt Ground, then config mach3 / config / ports and pins/ input / estop / set to pin 10 port 1

Pick one of the 2 options not both

hope that helps
